Skjaere's Hoard

What is a "skjaere"?
Skjaere is the Norwegian word for "magpie". I chose it because I am quite a lot Norwegian and I love shiny things. My SCA persona at the moment is Maren Skjaere Svendsdatter. Brownie points to anyone who can tell me how to pronounce it. I do not speak Norwegian.
